Newton Stewart Walking Festival 7th - 13th May, Newton Stewart, Dumfries & Galloway Tackle the highest hills in the south of Scotland, exploring Galloway and learning about the local environment. Aviemore and Cairngorms Walking and Mountain Festival 8th - 14th, Aviemore The Aviemore and Cairngorms Walking and Mountain Festival gives you the chance to take part in ten guided walks through the Cairngorms. Try the mountain biking, kayaking, white water rafting, climbing, and canyoning, and finish with a ceilidh supper. Arran Wildlife Festival 12th - 19th, isle of Arran Get close to Arran's wildlife. Golden Eagles, basking sharks, dolphins and red deer in this brilliant eight day event. Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival 21st - 29th, Dumfries & Galloway A host of events, including music, dance, literary and theatre, with local and international performers. The Edinburgh Marathon 23rd May, Edinburgh Around 100,000 people will throng the capital to watch the marathon runners leave Princes Street and finish in Holyrood Park. A fun day out for everyone.
